Jazz
Most of these photographs were taken in the early 1960s at Jazz clubs in the Los Angeles area, all of which are defunct. These included the Zebra Lounge at Central and Manchester, in South Central Los Angeles, and the Club Renaissance on the Sunset Strip in Hollywood. All were taken with a 35mm single-lens reflex camera with available light. Fast black and white film were used which was “pushed” during the developing process. These images reflect Peter Pearce’s passionate interest in the music of these great musicians.
